Hummingbird Healthcare was founded by two experienced nurses with a passion for delivering exceptional complex care. With years of expertise across various nursing specialities, we have witnessed both outstanding care and the pitfalls of poor practice—understanding first-hand the profound impact this can have on individuals and their families. Determined to set a higher standard, we created a company that not only prioritises the well-being of our clients but also values, supports and respects our staff.

That’s why we personally know each member of our staff, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and commitment to uphold our high standards. The Meaning Behind the Name
The inspiration for our name began during a trip to Canada, when Tracey caught her first glimpse of a hummingbird in the wild. She was captivated by its vibrant beauty, remarkable speed and delicate size — and even more so by its tireless work and focus.
When Tracey shared the idea with Carla, it resonated instantly. The hummingbird holds special significance for Carla as well — it is the national bird of Jamaica, the land of her heritage and is celebrated there as a symbol of resilience, energy and joy.
We recognised that the qualities of the hummingbird reflected the heart of our business: agility in responding to changing needs, precision in the way we work and dedication to the people we care for.
Choosing the hummingbird as our emblem was more than naming a business —it’s a living symbol of our promise to deliver exceptional, compassionate and responsive complex care every day.
